Job summary

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre seeks a Director of Development to lead all fundraising efforts in support of its mission to inspire audiences and nurture new ideas through ballet. The role reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with the Artistic Director, the Board, and senior leadership to grow philanthropy and diversify revenue.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of successful fundraising experience, including demonstrated success with major gifts and capital campaigns; planned-giving experience.
• Experience with capital campaigns and planned giving.
• Strong, clear communication and collaboration skills; ability to present to boards and stakeholder groups.
• Experience with a CRM system; Tessitura experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and actively participate in a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with PBT’s mission, vision, and priorities.
• Build and deepen relationships with current and prospective donors and institutional partners, with a focus on major gifts.
• Manage a portfolio of high-value donors, stakeholders, and prospects.
• Partner with the Board of Trustees and committees to advance fundraising goals.
• Prepare and manage the annual Development budget with Finance partner collaboration.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the development team; set performance goals.
• Oversee fundraising events and donor-engagement opportunities.
• Serve as an ambassador for PBT and cultivate relationships with donors and partners.
