Job summary

Ballet Hispánico in New York City is seeking a Director of Development to lead and grow all facets of the organization’s philanthropy. You will build empowering donor relationships, guide a small team, and collaborate with leadership and the board to advance our ambitious fundraising goals.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, major gifts, and a commitment to engaging diverse communities through education, performances, and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible leadership experience in nonprofit institutions.
• Proven ability to cultivate and solicit major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
• Experience working with boards and senior leadership to advance fundraising goals.
• Strong strategic planning and budget oversight across development programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Spanish language ability preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive development plan to expand philanthropic support.
• Lead donor cultivation, stewardship, and major gifts from individuals and organizations.
• Oversee special events, including the annual gala and New York City season.
• Manage development budget and systems, and supervise a small team.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and the board to advance fundraising strategy.
