Job summary

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Director of Development to lead all fundraising efforts. You will drive major gifts, develop strategies, and work with the Executive and Artistic Directors as a senior leader.

This full‑time role requires collaborating with the Board and external partners to increase contributed revenue and donor engagement. You will manage the Development team, oversee events, and represent PBT in the broader community, championing diversity and accessibility

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of fundraising experience with major gifts and capital campaigns.
• Strong written and verbal communication; board presentations.
• Experience leading and mentoring a fundraising team.
• History securing support from government, corporate, and foundations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with PBT’s mission.
• Build and deepen relationships with donors and institutional partners, focusing on major gifts.
• Manage a portfolio of high‑value donors and prospects.
• Partner with the Board and committees to set strategic fundraising goals.
• Prepare and manage the annual Development budget and monitor cash flow.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the development team; set performance goals.
• Collaborate with department leaders to achieve shared goals.
• Oversee fundraising events and donor-engagement opportunities.
• Serve as an ambassador for PBT within the community and to supporters.
