Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Director of Development for Student Success to lead a portfolio of major gift prospects and secure philanthropic support for scholarships, well-being, and career development.

The role collaborates with university leadership, reports to the Senior Director of Development within the University Development Office, and supports a hybrid work arrangement consistent with UNC System policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 1 year of professional-level direct solicitation/fundraising experience required.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Office and CRM.
• Preferred 3-5 years of major gift or account management experience, especially in a university setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 100 major gift prospects and donors with gifts of $100,000 or more.
• Develop and implement personalized donor engagement and solicitation strategies.
• Work closely with the Senior Director of Development and division leadership to align donor interests with university priorities.
