St. Therese Catholic Academy (STCA) seeks an Advancement Director for the 26-27 school year. With the anticipation of job renewal upon mutual agreement. This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, with the goal of full time in a year or two. The Advancement Director will be in charge of managing fundraising, admissions, communication, marketing, and database management for St. Therese Catholic Academy. Specific assignments for additional time will be determined based on school needs and candidates’ strengths.STCA is a Preschool-8th grade Catholic elementary school in the heart of the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, just 2 miles east of downtown. St. Therese is a welcoming, diverse, and faith-filled community that has been igniting the faith, minds, and dreams of our students since 1927. The school currently serves 132 students ages 3-14, 35% of whom receive free/reduced lunch. Our families commute from over 32 zip codes to be a part of our community, and over 60% of our families receive tuition assistance. Our staff (the Dream Team) has about 25 team members and is expanding along with our enrollment.RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborates with the principal and school leadership team in implementing the mission of the schoolFundraisingLead, plan and execute, along with Administration, the school’s major fundraising events: Annual Fund, Jog-a-Thon, and School AuctionManage marketing and communication of other fundraising events such as Giving Tuesday and Give BigOversee all leadership groups for the three fundraising events – i.e. establish a development committee advisory group and an auction steering committeeManage scheduling of fundraising events in collaboration with other administrative staff, coordinate event meetings, and ordering of fundraising suppliesRecruit, train and manage volunteers for fundraising eventsWork with community partners to garner sponsoring support for the school’s fundraising eventsManage the admission database (We currently use Little Green Light), ensuring it is accurate and kept up to dateAdmissionsCommunicate with families throughout the admissions process and for acceptanceKeep an updated Admissions Calendar with the schedule for tours and interviewsTrain middle school student leaders to give tours to prospective familiesCreate and maintain monthly admission reports for the administrators and Student Support Team (SST).Help plan and execute our Open House events, Grandparents Day, New Family Welcome, and New Family OrientationCommunications/MarketingManage the external communication to the school community, including the weekly school newsletter to familiesMaintain an active presence on all STCA social media platforms in partnership with AdministrationPartner with the Office Manager to keep the reader board updated with relevant announcementsLiaison with the parish to include a school update in the parish bulletinCreate needed flyers, mailings, or letters in relation to the three main fundraisers and admissionsWork with community partners to enhance our awareness in the areaMaintain the school websiteKeep a calendar for thanking donors and sponsorsTake and manage photos for marketing - special events, classroom activities, etc.Database MaintenanceMaintain a master calendar for all advancement activities and eventsResponsible for management of the donor database, maintaining data accuracyCollaborate closely with the Business Manager to ensure accurate record-keeping per IRS regulations, school policies and best practicesOversee the auction procurement data entry performed by parent volunteersUpdate family status in the donor database as information comes availableDocument Production and ReportingProcess all charitable gifts to the school, including receiving mail, entering gifts (individual gifts and large batches of gifts) in the donor database, generating letters, sharing weekly reports with AdministrationCreate and maintain monthly campaign finance reports for the finance council, administrators, and school commissionGenerate and distribute pledge payment remindersPartner with the business manager to design and run regular reports and one-time reports as requestedProduce and maintain the annual donor roll and scholarship fundsCoordinate large mailing projects, which may involve working with mail service or printing large numbers of pieces internally, including recruiting and coordinating volunteer help for productionGenerate monthly gift reports and summary reports for school Administration and business managerBachelor’s degree with minimum of two years experience in fundraising and/or school developmentUnderstanding and genuine appreciation of childrenDesire to work in a racially and economically diverse, faith-centered communityExperience managing volunteers and collaborating closely with school leadershipExcellent oral and written communication skills that include speaking and inspiring donorsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent editing skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and other design and communication platformsPreferred active CatholicAny offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.Benefits: Eligible positions receive a comprehensive package of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, accidental death and disability, long term disability, pension, 403(b), HSA, FSA, and generous sick leave, vacation and holidays.
