Job Opening: Long Term Sub Primary Grade Teacher (3rd Grade) at St. Therese Catholic Academy (STCA) in Seattle, WA.
STCA seeks a long term substitute Elementary 3rd Grade teacher for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year with the anticipation of renewal upon mutual agreement. This is a self-contained role as part of the primary team but will be responsible for all Elementary Level Grade content. Specific assignments for additional time will be determined based on school needs and the candidate’s strengths.
STCA is a Preschool-8th grade Catholic elementary school in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. The school serves 150 students ages 3-14, with 35% receiving free/reduced lunch and over 60% receiving tuition assistance. The community is diverse and faith-filled, and families commute from over 34 zip codes.
The Elementary consists of K-5 single grades with 7 teachers and rotating assistants. Each homeroom teacher is responsible for teaching math, literacy, language arts & writing, science, social studies, and religion classes. Opportunities for collaboration, joint planning through the PLC process, and implementing creative new ideas are encouraged. The candidate should be mission-driven, highly motivated, dedicated, and creative, enjoy partnering with colleagues and parents, and help students of varying ability levels succeed. All team members are expected to lead by example and support students and families from diverse backgrounds in a faith-centered setting.
Minimum Requirements:
This position includes full benefits and a salary range of $40,000–$50,000, based on experience. Salary is determined by internal equity, market data, applicant’s skills and relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
