Job summary

Population Action International (PAI) in Washington, DC, seeks a Senior Director of Development to translate urgency into sustained philanthropic growth. Lead fundraising strategy, grow major gifts, and strengthen institutional philanthropy while building scalable donor systems.

You will manage a major-donor portfolio, coach a three-person Development team, and partner with leadership to drive accountability and results across all development programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least seven years of progressive fundraising and development experience.
• Experience managing fundraising programs and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of PAI's fundraising strategy and drive growth in individual and major giving.
• Strengthen institutional philanthropy and build systems to support sustainable revenue.
• Manage a portfolio of major donors and stewardship of six- and seven-figure gifts.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to a three-person Development team and foster accountability.
