Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a Development Director, School Engagement to drive fundraising through school partnerships across VA, DC, and MD, with extensive travel. You will recruit volunteers, engage hundreds of schools, manage CRM data, and work from home while meeting occasionally in the field to support events.

Responsibilities include coordinating classroom activities, assemblies, and digital experiences, and building relationships with educators and district leaders to meet

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fundraising, sales or related experience.
• Ability to travel locally daily with reliable transportation.
• Work from home and in the field; adaptable to flexible hours.
• Demonstrated self-management and proactive communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM data management.

Responsibilities

• Meet fundraising goal of $350K through recruiting volunteers and engaging schools.
• Recruit and engage students through K-12 programs (Kids Heart Challenge, American Heart Challenge).
• Develop relationships with teachers, principals and district leaders.
• Provide outstanding customer service to volunteers and collaborators; plan kick-off meetings.
• Maintain and update CRM and MS Office data for accounts.
• Manage 5–10 schools per day, in-person or remotely.
