Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City invites a mission-driven Director of Development to lead fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and revenue growth across the Kansas City region.

Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the role centers on annual giving, corporate partnerships, grants, and donor stewardship to sustain Habitat KC’s impact—building homes, communities, and hope with committed supporters and advocates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive fundraising or related experience.
• Proven donor cultivation and stewardship success.
• Experience building fundraising pipelines and revenue growth.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using CRM and fundraising systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual giving strategy, donor acquisition, retention, and upgrades.
• Oversee year-end campaign messaging and revenue performance.
• Develop and strengthen corporate partnerships and community engagement.
• Manage donor portfolio including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Oversee grants and foundation funding initiatives.
• Lead and develop a high-performing fundraising team.
• Use data and CRM for performance insights and decision-making.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Programs, and Finance.
