Job summary

Youth Guidance Kansas City is seeking a Director of Development to lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy and serve as a compelling ambassador for the organization in Kansas City.

Working closely with the Executive Director, you will grow government contracts and philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations, manage donor relations, advisory council engagement, and a robust moves-management program in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years fundraising experience in mission-driven environments.
• Experience engaging Kansas City funders and community organizations.
• Experience with moves management and donor cultivation.
• Proven writing skills for proposals, reports, briefs, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the annual fundraising plan.
• Grow government contracts and philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
• Manage donor portfolio and move relationships through solicitation.
• Oversee Advisory Council engagement and fundraising activities.
• Oversee grants calendar, proposal development, budgeting, and reporting.
• Collaborate with Executive Director and Marketing on communications and strategy.
