Job summary

Reading Partners in New York City is seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising strategy and drive private revenue growth. You will partner with the Executive Director to shape regional strategy, manage the development team, and engage foundations, individuals, corporations, and local government for sustained impact.

The role is hybrid, involving 2–3 days in the office with regular travel for funder visits and board meetings; compensation ranges from $98,007 to $122,508 annually and

Qualifications

• Demonstrate ability to devise innovative regional fundraising plans and mobilize stakeholders to achieve goals.
• Strong experience engaging individual, institutional, and governmental funding sources.
• Proven track record in donor cultivation, grant reporting, and event execution.

Responsibilities

• Serve as external ambassador for Reading Partners in NYC.
• Develop and implement strategies to engage diverse funding streams; renewals, upgrades, and new leads.
• Plan and execute fundraising events and grant reports.
• Oversee regional development operations and pipeline management.
• Supervise development staff and coordinate with the executive director and board.
