Job summary

The American Heart Association in Hollywood, FL is seeking a Development Director to lead local fundraising for the Heart Ball and related campaigns, generating revenue through corporate sponsorships and donor engagement.

This office-based role requires strong relationship-building, strategic proposals, and the ability to manage volunteers and events, including the auction and Cor Vitae giving society activities.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or related fields.
• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to do daily local travel up to 75% and some overnight trips; requires reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift/move large objects (boxes) as needed; assistance may be required.
• Basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorships and individual donations; build and maintain relationships with partners and donors.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective sponsors and donors aligned to campaign goals.
• Develop and present proposals and materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership, committees, and day-of-the-event volunteers.
• Coordinate the event auction and lead a volunteers committee to solicit items.
• Lead engagement initiatives for the Cor Vitae giving society with other fundraising staff.
• Plan and execute events with internal and external partners.
• Collaborate with Communications Director to support campaign communications plans.
