Job summary

Friends of the Children - Texas seeks a Development Director to lead fundraising efforts for the Dallas chapter, reporting to the Executive Director and collaborating with the Board and national team. You will drive donor cultivation, plan development strategies, and oversee events to meet fiscal goals.

You will manage relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations, ensuring timely acknowledgments and impactful donor communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management or related field with 7+ years fundraising experience.
  • Or 10+ years progressive fundraising/development experience.
  • Proven major gifts securing, cultivation, and donor stewardship.
  • Strong collaboration with executive leadership and the board.
  • Track record building sustainable fundraising pipelines and donor segmentation.
  • Data-informed decision making to achieve annual development goals.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate donors including individuals, corporations and foundations.
  • Assist in revising and implementing development plans and strategies to grow fundraising.
  • Conduct prospect research and evaluate prospects for grants.
  • Plan and implement donor recognition and gratitude processes.
  • Participate in budgeting and growth of the organization through philanthropy.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with ED and Board on revenue targets and achievements.
  • Develop communications to educate donors via social media and newsletters.
  • Prepare materials for development meetings and donor conversations.
  • Support equity goals in decisions, communications, and processes.
