Youth For Christ Houston is seeking a Development Director to lead all development and fundraising efforts to sustain and grow the organization's $850,000 annual budget, enabling more lost youth across greater Houston to encounter Jesus and become lifelong followers of Christ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications.
• 3+ years nonprofit fundraising experience including major gifts and events.
• Proven ability to build relationships with donors, churches, and ministry partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for gospel storytelling and group presentations.
• Proficiency with donor management/CRM systems and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead a comprehensive annual development plan to fund the $850,000 budget through major gifts, church partnerships, foundations, businesses, events, campaigns, and planned giving.
• Cultivate and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects through meetings, calls, and written communication.
• Oversee flagship fundraising events with clear financial goals and donor engagement follow-up.
• Direct donor communications highlighting stories of youth encountering Christ and ministry impact.
• Ensure accurate use of the donor database for tracking giving, moves management, segmentation, acknowledgments, and reporting.
• Lead or support grant research, proposal writing, and reporting to foundations, churches, and institutional partners.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to align development strategy with organizational vision and sustainability.
• Stay current with fund development practices and participate in trainings for growth.
• Strengthen relationships with local churches and ministry partners to invite support and service.
• Coach staff, board members, and volunteers in storytelling and donor engagement.
