Job summary

City Year Buffalo seeks a Director of Development to design and execute a development strategy that mobilizes philanthropic resources to support the site’s growth and impact in the Buffalo community.

The role leads external relations, donor engagement, and major gift initiatives, working closely with the Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team to align fundraising with City Year’s mission and long-term goals.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of progressive fundraising/development experience with a proven track record including multi-year giving.
• BA/BS required; MBAs, MPPs or other relevant advanced degrees preferred.
• Solid, persuasive writing skills are required.

Responsibilities

• External Relations: plan donor engagement strategy across private, government, and education sectors.
• Represent City Year in the external community and at events, travel may be required.
• Develop and secure multi-year monetary and in-kind support for City Year.
