Position Summary
The Development Coordinator is a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who provides essential administrative and operational support to the development team at Trailhead Community Health Foundation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth execution of fundraising activities, donor stewardship, and data management processes.
The Coordinator supports day-to-day development operations, including assisting with gift processing, database maintenance, reporting assistance, and event coordination. This position is ideal for a professional eager to learn about nonprofit fundraising and gain hands-on experience supporting philanthropy and donor engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Development Systems and Data Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and prospect records in the CRM/database.
- Enter and update constituent data, including contact information, gift records, and engagement activities.
- Follow established data entry standards and support ongoing data clean-up and quality assurance efforts.
- Assist with generating mailing lists and basic reports.
- Provide general administrative support related to database usage.
Gift Processing and Donor Acknowledgement
- Assist with processing incoming gifts in a timely and accurate manner, including data entry and documentation.
- Assist with tracking pledges, recurring gifts, and matching gifts.
- Support reconciliation efforts between development and finance records as needed.
Reporting and Administrative Support
- Assist in preparing routine development reports, including donor activity and fundraising progress.
- Support data pulls and reporting needs for campaigns, appeals, and leadership updates.
- Maintain organized digital and physical files related to donors and fundraising activities.
- Provide general administrative support to the development team, including scheduling and document preparation.
Events Support
- Support planning and execution of donor events.
- Assist with event logistics, including registration tracking, attendee management, and follow-up communications.
- Help maintain event records in CRM systems and ensure accurate post-event data entry.
- Coordinate mailings or email communications for donors.
Prospect and Donor Support
- Assist with basic donor and prospect research as needed.
- Help track donor interactions and engagement activities within the CRM.
- Support donor stewardship efforts, including preparing materials and coordinating outreach.
Collaboration and Team Support
- Work closely with development staff to support fundraising priorities and initiatives.
- Provide responsive support to internal team requests for data, materials, or coordination.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment aligned with Trailhead’s mission and values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit, communications, business, or related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of administrative, nonprofit, or development experience preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, DonorPerfect or similar) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
$55,000, commensurate with experience. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Work Schedule and Location
Hybrid schedule: in-office in Akron (Monday–Thursday) and remote on Fridays. Standard hours: 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
