Job summary

Merlin Labs, headquartered in Boston, seeks a leader to advance ARP4754B-compliant development assurance across civil and defense programs. You will refine requirements, build plans, and mentor engineers while coordinating with Systems Engineering and Airworthiness teams.

You will teach audits, integrate processes, and drive certification activities under ARP4754B, DO-178C/DO-254, and MIL-HDBK-516 guidelines, ensuring scalable, repeatable workflows for multiple programs.

Qualifications

• 6-9 years of experience in Development Assurance with a Bachelor's degree, 4-6 years with a Master's degree, or 2-3 years with a PhD in Engineering or related field.
• Direct, hands-on experience developing, implementing, or auditing engineering processes under SAE ARP4754A/B and SAE ARP4761/A.
• Experience partnering with Systems Engineering to develop and mature requirements sets across prototyped through full production configurations.
• Strong audit, technical writing, and communication skills, including mentoring engineers on process topics.

Responsibilities

• Assess ARP4754B gaps and drive improvements across programs.
• Own refinement, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Development Assurance documentation.
• Lead cross-functional teams through complex development assurance solutions with tight schedules.
• Cross-train in DO-178C/DO-254 to extend audit and process support.
• Build and sustain ARP4754B-compliant process plans and audits.
