Job summary

Oakland University in Rochester, MI seeks a Development Associate for the School of Nursing. This casual, part-time role supports donor communications, annual giving, events, and gift processing under the Director of Philanthropy.

The successful candidate will craft executive communications, maintain donor records, assist with fundraising campaigns and events, and help improve office processes while meeting tight deadlines. Evening/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years’ experience in development or fundraising.
• Excellent written and oral communication and attention to detail.
• Experience writing executive communications and donor content.
• Knowledge of technology in development and fundraising.
• Experience with database and records management.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate with donors and staff at all levels.
• Discretion with confidential information.
• Self-starter with creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Draft executive level communications and donor acknowledgments.
• Support annual giving campaigns and donor engagement events.
• Assist with donor stewardship and sponsor fulfillment.
• Process gifts and maintain donor records.
• Support improvement of development office processes.
