Job summary

The Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, Maine seeks a Development Associate to support the Advancement team with donor relations, data integrity, and program administration. You will manage memberships, annual giving, and communications, ensuring timely acknowledgments and accurate records.

This on-site role requires strong organizational skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or two years of administrative experience.
• Accurate data management for financial and donor records.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with donors.
• Experience with Google, Microsoft, Zoom, Asana, and data entry.
• Experience with donor databases (Altru) preferred.
• Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends onsite.
• Independent and collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Process member and donor contributions in Altru within one week.
• Enter data, update lists, and run cleanup queries in Altru.
• Prepare member letters, cards, and renewal notices.
• Prepare donor acknowledgments for Gala and Museum Fund.
• Serve as primary contact for members and donors with 24-hour responses.
• Coordinate with staff to resolve member issues and provide materials.
• Assist events team with RSVP tracking and communications.
• Use Asana to track projects and attend weekly Ops meetings.
• Manage office supplies and mail; cover duties as needed.
• Promote museum values and support diversity, equity, inclusion.
• Attend museum and advancement events after hours when required.
