Job summary

Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, ME, seeks a Development Associate to support the Advancement team with membership and annual giving, donor relations, and data integrity in Altru. This detail-oriented role requires accuracy and teamwork in a fast-paced museum environment.

Responsibilities include processing contributions, generating acknowledgments and renewal notices, coordinating events with staff, and serving as a primary contact for members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or two years equivalent experience in an administrative role.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail for financial and data management.
• Excellent organization, planning, and time management for multiple priorities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication with donors and staff.
• Experience with Google, Microsoft, Zoom, and project management platforms.
• Experience with donor database or data entry (ideally Altru).
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends onsite; independent and collaborative team member.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process member and donor contributions in Altru within one week of receipt.
• Run daily cash receipts journal; collaborate with Finance for reconciliation.
• Data entry, list updates, and daily/weekly data cleanups in Altru.
• Prepare and issue member letters, cards, and renewal notices.
• Prepare donor acknowledgments for Gala and Museum Fund contributions.
• Serve as primary contact for members and donors with timely information.
• Assist staff with event RSVP tracking and communications.
• Use Asana to track projects and deadlines; attend weekly Ops Meetings when needed.
• Manage office supplies and coordinate mail delivery; provide coverage as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the Museum and uphold DEI values.
• Perform other duties including after-hours museum/advancement events.
