Job summary

Family Health Center of Worcester, Inc. is seeking a Development Associate in Worcester, MA. This full-time, on-site role supports fundraising operations through accurate data entry, gift processing, and key administrative duties for the Development team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years relevant nonprofit fundraising/office experience preferred.
  • High school diploma with 5 years related experience may substitute.
  • Experience with donor communications and events is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support donor communications, including appeals, mailings, and event materials.
  • Coordinate and support donor events both at the health center and in theGreater Worcester area.
  • Provide administrative support to the Development team and staff.
  • Maintain donor records in the Bloomerang donor database and support data hygiene.
  • Process gifts, grants, and in-kind donations with timely acknowledgements.
  • Coordinate with Finance to ensure accurate gift recording and reconciliation.
  • Generate donor and mailing lists and basic reports as needed.
  • Respond to donor inquiries via phone and email promptly and professionally.
  • Track meetings, agendas, and projects; manage calendars and deadlines.
  • Attend events during evenings or weekends as needed.

Development Associate

Salary Range: $20.19 To $23.56 Hourly

Position Summary:

The Development Associate is a critical member of the Development Team, supporting Family Health Center of Worcester’s fundraising operations through accurate data entry, gift processing, and day-to-day departmental coordination. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of donor records, supporting donor communications and events, and providing essential administrative support to the Development team. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the Development Associate helps ensure timely, reliable processes that support strong relationships with donors and advance the organization’s fundraising efforts. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Family Health Center of Worcester is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center that provides care for more than 30,000 patients annually in over 80 languages.

Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of donor communications, including special appeals, mailings, and event materials, by assisting with copywriting, basic design, and ensuring accuracy of donor contact information
  • Assist with the preparation, coordination, and on-site support of special events, at the health center and in Greater Worcester
  • Provide administrative support to department staff and those engaged in fundraising and advancement activities
  • Maintain accurate donor records in Bloomerang donor database and contribute to ongoing data hygiene initiatives
  • Process incoming gifts, grant awards, and in-kind donations and ensure timely acknowledgement to donors
  • Coordinate with the Finance department to ensure accurate gift recording and reconciliation
  • Generate donor lists, mailing lists, and basic reports as needed
  • Respond to donor inquiries via phone and email in a timely, professional manner
  • Track and support department meetings, agendas, and projects by maintaining calendars and deadlines
  • Participate in organizational and departmental meetings as needed, including occasional non-traditional hours, such as evenings or weekends, in order to attend events.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years relevant experience in nonprofit fundraising and/or office administration preferred. High school diploma and 5 years relevant experience may be substituted.

  • Experience with donor database systems and/or project management software.
  • Access to reliable transportation for local travel in supporting office operations and events.
