Job summary

You will apply GAAP concepts to review each deal and determine the true accounting essence, guiding decisions with solid supporting facts.

Responsibilities include monitoring leasing activity, tracking budgets in the job cost system, reviewing invoices and change orders, and preparing quarterly updates

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Ability to analyze transactions and arrive at GAAP conclusions.
• Experience reviewing deals to determine accounting essence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor leasing activity to identify and process fixed asset transactions.
• Determine GAAP accounting for each deal where economics and accounting differ.
• Independently seek resources to determine the essence of a deal.
• Track budgets and estimates for development projects in the job cost system.
• Review PAY invoices and vendor contracts/change orders for timely payment and proper coding.
• Prepare quarterly project financial updates for assigned projects.
• Review costs to ensure proper accounting.
• Collaborate with project management to obtain estimates.
• Monitor payments against approved spend and resolve variances.
• Deliver reporting on fixed assets and development projects to stakeholders.
• Prepare monthly capitalized interest calculations for active development projects.
• Review calculations for GAAP compliance.
