Macdonald & Company partners with a growing real estate investment and development firm to appoint a Development Accountant for its Tampa office. The role supports financial oversight of active developments across Development, Asset Management and Finance teams, focusing on project funding, budgeting and cash flow analysis.

This position requires 3–5 years in real estate development or related accounting, with strong Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualificações

• 3–5 years of experience in real estate development, development accounting, project accounting, construction accounting, finance or a related role.
• Experience working with active real estate development projects strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with funding requests, development draws, project budgets, cash flow projections and cost-to-complete analysis.
• Strong financial and analytical capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and manage several active projects simultaneously.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and process project-level funding requests and development draws.
• Maintain and update cash flow projections across active development projects.
• Track development budgets, actual costs, commitments and projected costs to completion.
• Perform budget-to-actual and variance analysis, identifying and communicating material changes.
• Support ongoing financial analysis and reporting across the development portfolio.
• Monitor project-level sources and uses and upcoming capital requirements.
• Review invoices, contracts, commitments, change orders and other development-related expenditures.
• Work closely with Development, Asset Management and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely project information.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting for active developments.
• Support project-level forecasting and other financial analysis as developments progress.
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and reporting for senior management.

The position will work cross-functionally across the firm’s Development, Asset Management and Finance teams, supporting the financial oversight of active real estate developments. The role will have exposure across the development lifecycle, with a particular focus on project funding, cash flow forecasting, development budgets and financial analysis.

This is an opportunity for someone with 2–5 years of relevant experience who wants to work closely with the investment and development side of the business rather than sitting solely within a traditional accounting function.
