Fulcrum Staffing, LLC seeks a Development Accountant to manage accounting for a project portfolio and support regionally focused teams. The role blends GAAP financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control with strong collaboration across construction and development stakeholders.

The incumbent will handle journal entries, budget management, and monthly reconciliations while serving as a key liaison during audits and investor draws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 2+ years of professional accounting experience; construction or real estate development experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail with creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills, with the ability to establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and work independently, exercising sound judgment to drive tasks forward with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Financial Accounting – Applies GAAP to compile and analyze financial information into statements and reports; makes journal entries in the general ledger.
• Cost Accounting & Budget Management – Maintains budgets for project life cycle; forecasts and analyzes job costs; assists directors to manage budgets.
• Project Abstracts – Understands agreements and investment materials; familiar with commitments, cost classifications, JV and lender requirements, project fees.
• Customer Relationships - Establishes and maintains professional communication with project stakeholders; responds to investor and lender requests for financial reports and draws.
• Cash Management – Manages cash accounts; performs bank reconciliations, wire transfers, and payments; coordinates with teams on cash forecasting.
• Collaboration – Maintains relationships with internal departments (AP, Finance, Asset Management, Property Management, Development and Construction).
• Annual Audits - Liaises with auditors; provides data and explanations to complete audits timely.
