Job summary

Datadog is seeking a principal Platform/SRE engineer who combines hands-on production experience with engineering storytelling. You will own service-management practices, drive incident response work, and help shape observability, security, and automation across teams.

You'll build demos, write across blogs and webinars, and mentor engineers on effective communication. You should have 5+ years in platform engineering or SRE, experience with on-call and production systems, and familiarity with

Qualifications

Approximately 5+ years of experience as Platform Engineer, SRE, DevOps Engineer or Software Developer with hands-on on-call/incident experience.
Strong understanding of core service-management practices (incident response, on-call, post-incident reviews, SLOs).
Experience with APIs and modern infrastructure such as IaaS cloud services and containers.
Able to communicate technical concepts clearly; storytelling and content creation a plus.

Responsibilities

Act as a subject matter expert for service management for advocacy and engineering teams.
Create content in multiple mediums to build the company's reputation in DevOps, Monitoring, and Security.
Partner with product engineering to build demos and coach teams on communication.
Interface with open source communities to drive messaging and new integrations.
Contribute to the product through feedback, documentation, or code.
