Job summary

Cognito LLC, a PSI joint venture, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support ICE IHSC at the Houston Contract Detention Facility in Houston, TX. The technician will assist in dispensing, patient care, inventory, and regulatory compliance under pharmacist supervision.

This civilian contractor role requires a HS diploma, at least 1 year of experience, BLS certification, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and health records systems.

Qualifications

• Degree/education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Maintains BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Background check and drug screen; current immunizations.
• Strong English communication (verbal and written).
• Knowledge of HIPAA/Privacy Act regulations; patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties related to preparation and dispensing of medication orders.
• Provides direct patient care within scope of practice; follows policy and procedures.
• Manages inventory; checks for shortages, expiration dates, and discrepancies.
• Uses computer systems to enter vouchers/invoices and generate reports.
• Collaborates with pharmacist to resolve prescription problems.
• Keeps records and prepares MARs; ensures accuracy of drug administration.
