Job summary

Cochise County Detention needs a Detention Officer II to supervise inmate activities, ensure facility security, and support daily operations within the jail environment. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and active participation in security procedures.

Under close supervision, you will perform correctional duties, participate in inmate handling, and complete training. This position includes eligibility for the Correctional Officer Retirement Plan and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED and be 18 years of age or older.
• Must provide eligibility to work in the United States.
• Must obtain Certification as a Correctional/Detention Officer within one year of employment.
• Background check, tests and drug screening are required.

Responsibilities

• Control and supervise movement and activities of inmates; maintain detention facility security.
• Transports inmates to and from the detention facility using proper security measures; supervises visitation.
• Maintain records and prepare reports; perform routine clerical functions and data entry.
