Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and EMT or Medical Assistant certification.
• At least 1 year of experience in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic health care tasks and detention-related care for inmates/detainees.
• Responds to emergency and non-emergency requests; conducts medical screenings; documents patient charts; distributes medications as prescribed.
• Handles routine and sensitive correspondence, medical records, reports, and other documents.
• Provides immunizations and basic health services to inmates/detainees.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection; assists physicians during evaluations.
• Coordinates inmate appointments with community providers; ensures transportation and security procedures.
• Manages phone inquiries from the public; provides information or routes calls; maintains follow-up care schedules.
• Records, enters, and posts inmate co-pay statements for collection; maintains related files.
