Job summary

The City of New York’s Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) Division of Youth and Family Justice seeks a seasoned administrator to oversee operations of secure detention facilities and manage complex youth programs. The role requires strong leadership, policy implementation, and incident review expertise.

Minimum qualifications include master's degrees with substantial administrative experience in child care settings.

Qualifications

• Masters in social work with 4 years of paid professional experience in child care or related field, including 2 years in administration.
• Masters in sociology/psychology/education/public administration or related field with 5 years paid experience including 2 years in administration.
• Equivalency: education/experience equivalent to 1 or 2 with two years in child care admin.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations of an assigned tour of secure detention facility, plan and monitor ongoing programs.
• Provide coverage for facility operations in absence of Executive Director of Operations.
• Conduct candidate interviews and participate in vacancy selections for secure detention.
• Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and overtime reduction.
• Implement policies and evaluate practices for safety and security of youth and staff.
• Review incident reports and conduct follow-up video reviews; ensure proper documentation.
