Job summary

Denver Sheriff Department seeks an experienced Detention Facility Maintenance Superintendent to oversee the Downtown Detention Center and County Jail facilities in Denver, Colorado. The role manages 15–20 staff across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other trades to ensure safe, secure, and compliant operations.

Applicants must pass a background check, have 4–5 years of supervisory experience, and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience managing and leading a corporate-scale maintenance team.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other skilled trades.
• Willingness to work various shifts and be on-call for emergencies.
• Driver's license valid at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises trade supervisors and skilled trades staff responsible for maintenance, repair, and improvement of correctional facility buildings and systems.
• Establishes work priorities and staffing to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Coordinates maintenance projects with facility administration, security, and outside agencies to minimize disruptions.
• Monitors contractor activities for contract compliance and safety standards.
