Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a full-time Transport Officer to securely move detainees between facilities and ensure vehicle safety and maintenance.

You will perform pre-trip, during-trip, and post-trip inspections, verify licenses, complete DVIRs, and maintain accurate paperwork to meet compliance requirements. Ideal candidates hold a Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement and pass DOT drug/alcohol tests, with willingness to travel and work overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement.
• DOT drug and alcohol test must be passed.
• At least 80 hours of verified driver training.
• Training in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military preferred.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-trip, during-trip, and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Ensures all permits and licenses are in order before trips.
• Reports safety defects and maintains DVIRs.
• Completes paperwork accurately and timely per policy.
• Secures detainees before leaving facilities and during transport.
• Follows all safety regulations and laws during transport.
• Contacts safety authorities in case of accidents and provides details.
