GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a full-time Transportation Officer to securely transport detainees between facilities and ensure vehicles are maintained and compliant with safety requirements. The role requires a valid CDL with Passenger endorsement, 80 hours of DOT-trained driver experience, and state licenses for firearms and security.

Candidates must be 21+, able to work overtime, and travel with overnight stays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• CDL with Passenger endorsement within 90 days of appointment.
• 80 hours of verified driver training from a DOT-approved trainer.
• State Firearms License.
• State Security Guard License.
• Training in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
• Current driver’s license with clean record in past 3 years.
• Ability to work overtime and travel with overnight stays.
• Ability to handle stress and work long hours.
• Proficient with computers and department software.

Responsibilities

• Transports detainees between destinations securely and ensures vehicles are safe and maintained.
• Performs pre-trip, during-trip, and post-trip vehicle inspections and DVIR reporting.
• Ensures permits, licenses, and safety equipment are in order before trips and reports any issues.
• Completes required paperwork accurately and timely.
• Secures detainees before leaving facilities and during transport, maintains proper documentation.
• Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies during transport.
• Contacts safety authorities and facility management in case of accidents.
• Delivers vehicles for servicing and retrieves them when ready.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
