Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a Sr. Transportation Officer to lead the transport of detainees under high-risk federal contracts. You will hold a CDL Class B with a passenger endorsement and ensure safety, vehicle maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include overseeing team performance, reviewing vehicle inspections, maintaining licenses, and coordinating with Transportation management on problem-solving. Travel and overtime are required as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification.
• 21+ years of age.
• 3 years of continuous law enforcement related experience including 2+ years as lead supervisor or completion of GEO's Supervisory Training Course.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• State Firearms License.
• State Security Guard License.
• Certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
• A current driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Completion of an approved training program in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
• Willingness to pass a Company and DOT drug/alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Transportation activities for detainees and manage operations under Transportation Manager.
• Review vehicle inspection reports and summarize findings for Transportation management.
• Ensure all permits and licenses for assigned vehicles are current.
• Verify safety equipment before trips and report issues to management.
• Track DOT HOS on Electronic Logging Devices.
• Assist with interviewing and screening of Transport Officers when required.
• Ensure all reports are accurate and submitted per policy; ensure safety standards are met.
