Zusammenfassung

Merrill Steel seeks a Detailing Lead to manage the detailing function and coordinate the work of detailers. You will ensure model accuracy, quality of shop and field drawings, and alignment with project requirements and standards.

You will lead weekly technical meetings, distribute notes and reports, manage RFIs/submittals, and ensure design changes are properly incorporated. The role requires collaboration across departments and ongoing emphasis on quality and compliance.

Qualifikationen

• Must have a minimum of eight years of experience in detailing or related field.
• Three years of leadership experience preferred.
• Expertise in drawing standards, fabrication practices, erection practices, OSHA subpart R requirements, AWS requirements, and AISC requirements.

Aufgaben

• Lead the detailing function and coordinate the work activities of detailing staff to ensure output accuracy and quality of Shop Drawings, MTOs, and lists.
• Ensure compliance with project contract requirements, codes, and Merrill Quality Manual and detailing standards.
• Distribute design documents, RFI responses, and approvals to detailers and subcontractors.
• Track and prioritize RFIs and submittals for timely responses.
• Moderate weekly technical meetings and prepare notes, reports, and agendas.
• Document and resolve shop/field questions; track issues to reduce repetition.
• Ensure design changes are incorporated; assist project team in quantifying added materials and labor.
• Perform other duties as needed.
