Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a detailer to support construction projects with BIM modeling, shop drawings, and MEP coordination. You will create mechanical layouts, document control, and collaborate across teams to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.

The role involves leading junior detailers, reviewing drawings, and helping direct model development to meet project milestones and budget expectations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with related experience or apprenticeship with field experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read construction documents and coordinate trades.

Responsibilities

• Supports construction projects by receiving, logging, tracking, expediting, and distributing shop drawings and RFI docs.
• Creates advanced shop drawings for mechanical systems.
• Produces equipment, room layouts and detail drawings.
• Maintains document control so information is retrievable by others.
• Leads less experienced detailers and delegates work.
• Coordinates with project teams to meet deliverables and budgets.
