Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate to create project submittals for commercial doors, frames, and hardware. This role focuses on documenting product specifications and creating technical drawings.

General Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
2. Research each piece of commercial hardware thoroughly.
3. Create detailed, accurate product specifications.
4. Prepare 'Take-offs' on doors, frames, and hardware.
5. Develop and update submittals and standardized forms, making necessary changes.
6. Create machining sheets and other design specifications for frames, doors, and hardware products.
7. Resolve issues arising within plans and specifications.
8. Stay current on codes, products, and design changes for doors, frames, and hardware by attending vendor classes.

Experience:

• Experience with wood doors, hollow metal doors and frames, and commercial hardware.
• Proven experience in documenting product specifications.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with contract documents.
• Excellent reading comprehension.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask.
• Proficiency with Internet, MS Word, and Excel (including formulas and spreadsheets).
• Aptitude for learning industry-related software.
