Job summary

CBX Solutions, LLC is seeking aDetailer to translate contract documents into precise door, frame, and hardware schedules for commercial projects. You will determine quantities, verify costs, and ensure UL, fire, ADA, and local code compliance.

The role requires strong CAD skills and accuracy working with architects and general contractors. You’ll detail openings, prepare shop drawings, and manage submittals with company software while keeping files organized from start to finish.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor degree in a technical field preferred; hands-on work considered.
2–4 years in detailing, estimating, project coordination, or specification work in commercial construction.
Knowledge of door, frame, and hardware types and opening assemblies.
Familiarity with UL listings, fire/smoke ratings, and ADA requirements.

Responsibilities

Review sales sheets, job requirements, and contracts to establish accurate quantities.
Detail and schedule door, frame, and hardware materials; verify costs against estimates.
Select products based on specs, scope, and code standards.
Ensure compliance with UL, fire, ADA, life safety, and local codes.
Prepare shop drawings, schedules, and submittals using catalog cuts and CAD tools.
Create elevations and sections with company CAD/detailing software.
Write clear technical notes for submittals and coordinate with GC/architect.
Review schedules for errors and resubmit as needed.
Maintain organized project files throughout the lifecycle.
