Job summary

CBX Solutions, LLC is seeking a Detailer to translate contract documents into accurate opening schedules for doors, frames, and hardware. You’ll ensure code compliance and collaborate with project teams to meet UL, fire, ADA, and life-safety requirements.

The role requires hands-on detailing experience, CAD proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment within a construction materials context.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical/engineering field preferred; hands-on experience considered.
• 2–4 years detailing, estimating, project coordination, or specification work in commercial construction or building materials.
• Knowledge of door, frame, and hardware types and how components interact in openings.
• Working knowledge of UL listings, fire & smoke ratings, ADA, life safety, and local building codes.
• Proficiency with detailing/scheduling software and Microsoft Office; CAD experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to establish opening quantities and product requirements.
• Detail and schedule door, frame, and hardware materials; document variances.
• Determine product selections based on specs, scope, cost targets, and codes.
• Verify products meet UL, fire, ADA, life safety, and local codes.
• Prepare shop drawings, schedules, and submittals using catalog cuts and company software.
• Create elevation drawings using CAD or detailing software.
• Write clear technical notes for verifications during submittals.
• Review schedules/submittals for errors before release; maintain records.
