Job summary

CBX Solutions in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Detailer to translate contract documents into accurate door, frame, and hardware schedules, ensuring code compliance and proper product selection.

You will prepare shop drawings, elevations, and submittals using CAD and company software, review schedules for errors, and maintain organized project files while coordinating with architects and general contractors.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, architecture, or construction-related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered
• 2 to 4 years of experience in detailing, estimating, project coordination, or specification work within the commercial construction or building materials industry
• Knowledge of UL listings, fire/smoke ratings, ADA, life safety, and local building code applications to openings
• Familiarity with company-issued detailing and scheduling software and CAD software

Responsibilities

• Review sales sheets, job requirements, and contract documents to establish opening quantities and product requirements
• Detail and schedule door, frame, and hardware materials with cost verification
• Determine product selections based on specification requirements, project scope, cost targets, and code standards
• Verify compliance with UL, fire, ADA, life safety, and local building codes
• Prepare shop drawings, schedules, and submittals using manufacturer catalog cuts and company software
• Prepare elevation drawings and sections using CAD or detailing software
• Write technical notes highlighting issues and verifications for the GC/architect
• Review schedules and submittals for errors and resubmit as needed
• Maintain organized project files throughout the project lifecycle
