Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CCS/CCA/CPC certification required or eligible for exam.
• Medical coding experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes per official guidelines.
• Review EHRs, verify documentation, and abstract data for billing/reports.
• Communicate with providers and Patient Financial Services to resolve discrepancies.
• Organize, file, and deliver medical records while protecting confidentiality under HIPAA.
• Compile and report statistics and support HIM department goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
