Job summary

Burke & Herbert Bank is seeking a Consumer Loan Processor in Moorefield, WV to handle loan requests from application to origination. The role supports Retail employees, Loan Officers, and underwriters by ensuring files are complete and compliant with policy and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include coordinating with vendors, ordering third-party items, preparing disclosures, and scheduling closings. Active NMLS is required or obtainable after start; notary preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of lending experience required.
• Active NMLS number or ability to obtain after starting in the role.
• Notary Public is preferred, but not required.
• Experience with consumer loan documentation, disclosures, and closing processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and coordinate consumer loan requests from application through origination.
• Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Manage an active pipeline of loan requests to ensure timely processing and follow-up.
• Coordinate with retail, consumer underwriters, and third-party vendors to obtain required documentation and satisfy outstanding conditions.
• Order, monitor, and track third-party items such as flood determinations, appraisals, title work, legal documents, insurance, and other documentation.
• Prepare and deliver required disclosures and loan documentation within regulatory timeframes.
• Review loan files for closing readiness and clear all prior-to-close conditions.
• Prepare, schedule, and coordinate loan closings.
• Prepare loan documents and distribute documents to customers, internal partners, and external vendors.
• Coordinate funding and disbursement of loan proceeds in accordance with Bank procedures.
• Review signed loan packages for completeness and accuracy prior to funding and booking.
• Ensure all executed loan documents are imaged and retained in the Bank’s systems.
• Scan and route post-closing documents to appropriate departments for ongoing collateral, title, and insurance tracking.
• Maintain accurate loan file documentation and status updates throughout the life of the request.
• Follow all Bank policies, loan policy requirements, and operational and compliance procedures.
