Metcut Research Inc. is seeking an Accounting Clerk to support our Accounting Department. The role emphasizes accurate processing of financial transactions across AP, AR, and payroll support, with proficiency in Great Plains and Microsoft Office.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of related experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Overtime may be required during peak periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or payroll support.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work overtime may be required during peak periods (e.g., month-end, year-end).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices within Great Plains and record information on the job cost sheet.
• Submit invoices to customers via portal or email.
• Address invoice inquiries and follow up on payment status.
• Maintain organized customer files.
• Maintain customer sales tax exemptions and apply sales tax based on locale and exemption status.
• Agree employee expense reports and credit card purchases to the general ledger.
• Organize completed job cost folders and schedule for storage.
• Backup timekeeping processes for the team.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing.
• Communicate with internal departments, vendors, and customers.
