Job summary

Tallgrass Title is seeking a meticulous Title Examiner for our Manhattan office. You will search historical and current records at county offices to determine ownership, liens, and encumbrances, and assess eligibility for title insurance.

Collaboration with the closing department, examiners, and underwriting staff is essential to resolve title defects. The role emphasizes accuracy, coordination, and timely production of reports while aligning with company standards and customer service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• License/certification in title industry preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Organizational skills to maintain records and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Search public records with county offices where the subject property is located.
• Travel to counties to perform on-site searches of county records as needed.
• Relay information clearly and accurately with team members.
• Assist in reviewing others' work to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports.
• Maintain and update records according to company standards.
• Knowledge of state-specific title standards and legal descriptions.
• Assist production team members with workloads to ensure turnarounds.
• All other duties and projects as assigned.
