Job summary

Fives DyAG Corp. is seeking a Desktop Technician in Owings Mills, MD to install, configure and manage Windows desktops in a high-volume, customer-facing environment at the innovation hub. The role focuses on desk setup, account provisioning, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of desktop support experience, an Associate’s degree in a technical field, and strong customer service skills. Onsite work with potential off-hours support is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Windows OS and desktop troubleshooting.
• Experience configuring desktop hardware and software.
• Familiarity with Office 365 suite (Excel macros).
• Strong customer-facing and service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in software/hardware lifecycle management including research, packaging, QA, and deployment prep.
• Set up new users with desktop config, email, LDAP, and VPN accounts.
• Support employees locally and remotely with desktop and account issues.
• Troubleshoot software issues on desktops/laptops.
• Some off-hours support may apply.

Location: Owings Mills, MD

Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 6 months
• Pay Rate: $30.00–$36.00 / Hour (USD)

Job Summary

The main function of a Desktop Technician is to be responsible for the installation, configuration, and administration of Windows desktops. These roles will support high-volume walk-up traffic in the innovations hub at Owings Mills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the software and hardware life cycle management processes including research, packaging, quality assurance, and deployment preparation
• Set up new users, including desktop configuration, email accounts, LDAP accounts, VPN accounts
• Support employees, both local and remote, with desktop issues, account issues, and access to various internal services
• Troubleshoot software issues on employees' desktops/laptops
• Some off-hours support may apply

Required Skills

• Knowledge of Windows OS
• Experience with desktop installation and configuration
• Experience troubleshooting desktop issues as well as mobile devices
• Strong customer service and customer-facing skills
• Troubleshooting of the Office 365 suite, including Excel Macros
• Detail-oriented with the ability to handle high-volume walk-up traffic in person

Preferred Skills

• Experience in financial services or large enterprise environments preferred; experience in an innovation hub or lab environment with direct customer interaction is equally preferred

Education Requirements

• Associate's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required

Required Experience

• 5–7 years of experience required (candidates with strong troubleshooting skills and fewer years of experience will also be considered)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Fully in-person, customer-facing role for the entire workday at the innovation hub
• Onsite interview required; interview will consist primarily of software-focused questions
