Job summary

Hirebridge is seeking a Desktop Support System Administrator to maintain, optimize, and secure IT systems for daily operations. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, manage system security, and ensure compliance with IT policies.

The role includes configuring and monitoring Windows and Linux servers, managing AD, VPNs, backups, DR readiness, and cloud services (Azure/AWS). Occasional weekend/on-call and a Monday-Thursday shift in Salt Lake City.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in system administration or technical support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
• Experience with networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
• Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft (MCSA/MCP), Linux+, AWS, Azure.
• Experience in DoD environments (RMF, STIGs, DISA compliance).

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1/2 technical support for end-users.
• Manage and resolve helpdesk ticket escalations.
• Maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and enterprise apps.
• Administer Active Directory, managing accounts and access rights.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding, provisioning resources.
• Educate users on security best practices and IT policies.
• Monitor IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and cloud services.
• Manage cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and VMware vSphere.
• Ensure data integrity, backups, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Maintain system documentation and compliance records.
