Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
Configures and installs TIS users’ desktops and laptops. Participates in the installation and roll-out of new software packages, upgrades, and new desktop hardware. Maintains desktop software and hardware. Supports mobile workforce. Provides Tier 2 support to ITS users for basic software and hardware end-user computer and desktop-based LAN systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Configures and installs software for TIS users’ desktop and laptop computers.
- Installs new computer hardware (desktop, laptop, PDA, printer, etc.) at users’ locations.
- Provides desk-side end-user Tier 2 support and troubleshooting for hardware and desktop software issues.
- Assists with the rollout of new/upgraded desktop software packages.
- Supports mobile workforce.
- Helps end-users learn to use software comfortably and fosters positive communication with technical staff.
- Performs routine desktop and network maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoots network problems including connection issues.
- Assists in physical moves of computer equipment.
- Participates in on-call support rotation as specified by management.
- Escalates issues appropriately based on severity or troubleshooting outcomes.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies to ensure compliance and ethical behavior.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree or technical institute graduate/certificate or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least one year of hands-on experience with application installation, hardware, and troubleshooting.
- Microsoft and/or PC certifications (A+, Network+, etc.) desirable.
- Experience with Microsoft desktop OS and applications (Office, Outlook).
- Knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN) and IT best practices preferred.
- Experience with PC imaging is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for client interaction and documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues effectively.
- Ability to remain calm and helpful in all situations.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Personal qualities of honesty, integrity, and caring, with the ability to motivate others aligned with Trinity Health’s values.
