Job summary

Municipal Credit Union in New York is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to support and maintain computer systems, desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices. You will install, diagnose, repair, and upgrade hardware, provide end-user assistance, and ensure workstation performance.

Primary duties include server and workstation patch management, business continuity planning, ticketing, and coordinating with third-party support as needed.

• Basic working knowledge of computer terminology and systems.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Server building and maintenance.
• Workstation and server monthly patch management.
• Business continuity planning and execution.
• Assist users with logged IT incidents and restore service quickly.
• Take ownership of issues and escalate when needed to other teams.
• Accurately record and document requests in the IT ticketing system.
• Perform on-site analysis and resolve complex desktop problems for end-users.
• Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software.
• Collaborate with Technology team to ensure efficient desktop operation.
• Receive and respond to calls and work orders regarding desktop problems.
• Liaise with third-party support when required.
• Assist at helpdesk during staff shortages.
• Maintain clear verbal communication with all levels of staff.
• Recommend upgrades to extend system longevity.
• Perform related duties as needed.
