Job summary

San José State University seeks a Desktop Support Specialist to provide advanced technical support across clinical, administrative, and wellness program environments. You will manage technology assets from inventory to secure disposal, troubleshoot complex issues, and support electronic health records and telehealth platforms while coordinating small technology projects.

This role reports to the Director of Care Experience and Operations and emphasizes reliability, security, and staff

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Two years of relevant experience; substitution or advanced degree considerations allowed by policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, network connectivity, desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and other systems.
• Manage lifecycle of technology assets including inventory, checkout/return, audits, tagging, warranties, refresh planning, deployment, replacement, disposal, and recycling.
• Install, configure, maintain, and update operating systems, applications, and specialized software per IT standards and cybersecurity requirements.
• Coordinate small-scale technology projects with campus IT, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve escalated issues.
• Develop documentation, reports, dashboards, and staff training to support operations, audits, and workflow improvements.
