The Desktop Support / Logistics Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance to end-users, ensuring smooth operation of IT systems, and managing logistical processes related to hardware, software, and office equipment. This hybrid role combines hands-on technical support with coordination of inventory, procurement, and distribution of IT assets.
Desktop Support
- Provide first- and second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and security tools.
- Assist with user account management (Active Directory, email, VPN, etc.).
- Document support requests, resolutions, and maintain knowledge base articles.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and data protection standards.
Logistics & Asset Management
- Manage inventory of IT equipment, accessories, and spare parts.
- Coordinate procurement, shipping, and receiving of hardware/software.
- Track asset lifecycle: deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of products.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment assignments and returns.
- Support office moves, equipment relocations, and setup of new workstations.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, or similar).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills for managing inventory and logistics.
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment when required.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in desktop support or IT helpdesk.
- Experience in logistics, inventory management, or procurement is a plus.
- Detail-oriented and proactive.
