Job summary

City of Mesa is seeking an IT Engineer II to provide skilled technical services for installation, configuration, testing, and ongoing support for desktop applications and related infrastructure within the PSIT unit of the Police Department.

Responsibilities include leadership, independent judgment, and coordinating day-to-day activities of a small technical staff. Background checks and a valid AZ driver’s license may be required by assignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Engineering, Geography by assignment).
• 3–5 years' computer systems experience in at least one technical support area (Applications, Database, Desktop, GIS, Network, Security, Server, or Web Support).
• Project or technical leadership experience is desirable by assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical services for desktop applications, local printing, and mobile devices.
• Manage incident reports and troubleshoot hardware, software, or network problems.
• Lead small- to medium-scale projects and mentor staff.
